Kindness Ambassadors
Kindness Ambassador Leader - Hannah Taylor
At Oakridge, we value kindness and going above and beyond for others.
How are our Kindness Ambassadors selected?
At the beginning of the school year, all pupils are given the opportunity to apply to become the Kindness Ambassador representative for their class. To apply for this role pupils complete an application form and return it to the Kindness Ambassador leader: Mrs Taylor. Once the Kindness Ambassadors have been selected they are announced in assembly and presented with their Kindness Ambassador badges.
What is the role of a Kindness Ambassador?
Their role is to look out for and celebrate acts of kindness around our school. When they see acts of kindness they complete a kindness slip which are collected up and at least 3 acts of kindness are celebrated each with a certificate and a small prize.
Each half-term will have a different theme:
- Autumn 1- making someone smile
- Autumn 2- patience and tolerance
- Spring 1- being helpful to others
- Spring 2- showing respect to people and things
- Summer 1- being a good friend
- Summer 2- going above and beyond with kindness
Everyone in the class, including staff, can nominate someone for showing kindness anywhere in the school. Every week, the ambassadors from each class will collect the slips and bring them to assembly where there will be a box to collect them in. Mrs Taylor will then choose a few from the box and they will each receive a certificate and a prize.
Our Kind Ambassadors, for both the infants and the juniors, have now been chosen and will be looking for those children who are going the extra mile to be kind to others.
