Year 2 Fire Service Visit

On Thursday 26th September, Year 2 had an exciting visit from Hampshire Fire and Rescue. They came to talk to us about fire safety and what we should do if there was a fire. This included how to call 999 and knowing how we can escape from our homes safely in case there was a fire. The children also took part in a quiz to check their understanding and show how much they had learnt.

As part of the talk, the teachers had a race to see who could put on the firefighter’s protective clothing the quickest. Firefighters have to do this in less than one minute! Miss Jones was the fastest at just 23 seconds, followed by Mr Cameron and then Miss Cameron.

Well done to everyone in Year 2 as the firefighter was extremely impressed with how sensible and well-behaved the children were!
